I was stood in the West stand maybe 30 yards from the incident with a very clear view and thought our lad got a touch 2 mins later my brother text he was watching sky and said nailed on pen
Stonewall pen for me unfortunately, when I first saw it I thought he got ball but after all replays on tele it is a foul for me annoyingly
Don't understand people Saying footage shows he definitely got the ball. All the slow mo show the Villa player def touched the ball on and then Jackson took him out. One angle shows Jackson was about 6 inches from touching the ball! Clear penalty that killed the game from our perspective.
Hmm. Not the replay I saw (or the commentator). I thought he got the ball when I first watched it on sky from one angle though.
I'm going to have to watch it again on sky because at half time they showed a slow mo replay that literally everyone in the concourse agreed showed him getting the ball. Interested to see that same replay on my TV at home and see what we were all missing from the TVs at oakwell. Maybe it was the distance from the TV and the angle you look up at them
Seen it from 4 different angles to me it was'nt a pen would it have been pen if a barnsley had gone down like that i don't think so
The clearest angle is from the East Stand side of the pitch. It clearly shows the Villa forward toe poke the ball forward before Jackson gets there.
Maybe if Jackson hadn't dived in so reckless and just stayed on his feet. We gifted them this game two awful goals killed it off.
From East stand lower it looked a good tackle but the decisive thing for me, moments later, was that no Barnsley player objected. If there's doubt the players usually show their feelings.
sod the replays, lower west had the same view as the linesman. Not just a bad decision, but a game changer. And actually a very good bit of football by Jacko.
I was pretty angry at the decision seeing it sat in the stands but getting home and watching the replay, 100% penalty.
Still not seen a replay, but I had a perfect view of it and my initial though was that Jackson got nowhere near the ball. I had my head in my hands before the ref had even blown his whistle.
