Just seen a video on Facebook of a Villa Fan climbing up in concourse onto wall and jumping off. And not 1 steward in sight. He could have done serious Injury and no doubt our club would have got done if so.
Good how most of them shined their torches on 65 th minute , stewards and police are never there when needed
They gerrup ont beams and do allsorts, its a reight activity play centre in there for the kids. Needs renaming, bring back Ben.
Other than them lighting up in the 65th minute they didn't do their club proud at all. Kicking down the advertisement sidings and running on the pitch and keeping the ball and kicking the ball out of the ground......morons. This latest post doesn't surprise me at all. To compound it all, the stewards were ineffective but it really annoys me when you see all the Plod standing by and watching. SYP. Get a grip.
The Stewards are very selective on who they move on. We were on the front row of the East Stand lower tier. There was a pool of standing water on walkway. Prior to kick off, there were kids sat on the wall waiting to see Toby as he made his way round and their parents were stood behind them, but to avoid standing in the puddle, they were literally two inches away from the feet of spectators in the front seats who were getting splashed when anyone walked past to go for refreshments or to use the toilets. Despite numerous requests, they ( the adults) wouldn't move and blocked the view of some disabled spectators who were unable to stand up to see the old players come onto the pitch which was a shame. A Steward was told and moved a few kids who were unattended off the wall, but let those with their burly Dads present, stay where they were. A 3-0 defeat was bad enough, but going home wet through from the knees down was a bit of a ******.
Oakwell is a paradise for away supporters due to the North Stand seemingly being a free-for-all. Away fans can sit where they want, stand where they want, block gangways, climb on the TV location at the top of the stand, run about across the front of the stand, charge towards the corner of the East Stand, light smoke bombs, chuck smoke bombs, run onto the pitch and then stroll back in the stand. All without any harassment from the stewards or police. Yesterday we saw Villa lads climb over the advertising boards, hug their players, run around a bit, go for another hug, jump up and down and then get ushered safely back into the away end. The police, all 20 of them stood still, not even videoing. No arrests, perhaps one ejection at the most. Villa were then able to knock down the advertising boards, rip a couple up, no problem. One then ran and booted the ball out of the stadium, no problem. Now I don't mind, I love a lassez-faire approach to football fans, but this isn't evenly applied is it? Against Sundelrand the Ponty was videoed throughout. At Preston we had 15 police officers and stewards videoing a very calm away end for 90 mins. Very little consistency.
