I used to love them both, Kerr was an out & out goal scorer whilst George Hamstead had the sweetest left foot you could imagine , a great set piece taker

How ******* sexy is Disco? And how on earth the club managed to persuade Ward to take a break from filming The Real Housewives Of Cheshire I'll never know...

Well done to all who made it happen, it was great to see some of the old faces. There is a video of Mr. & Mrs. Cryne doing the rounds on Twitter as the 65th minute lights got turned on, both of them seemed to be holding the tears back.

Can I also say how well Mr. Cryne is looking. I recently lost my grandfather to cancer, he looked a very poorly man for the duration of his treatment. Good to see Patrick looking well.

For anyone that might be interested Hamstead is 68 years old & is still working. He works at Marks & Spencer's at Meadowhall. Just shows you how much the games changed, can't see Hourihane doing that in 40 years time

Absolute gentleman. Genuinely buzzing to be invited. Think they all were.

I spoke to Shez a few weeks back and he had to call me back because he was on the motorway digging holes. Unreal really.

I blame Alan Hill for the defeat though. Walking to the tunnel he said to me "we've got our best ever keeper now, and I mean that." I agreed. I rate Davo massively. But then....

Great day. Slideshow on social media with images of the event. Take care. See you all at Wembley, as per.

In the 60's my mum & dad had a hotel in Blackpool & my dad used to go & watch them. They were in the top flight then & Les played alongside the likes of Alan Ball. My parents moved back to Barnsley & my dad started taking me regularly in 74/75 season, when Les was with us. Glad he still gets to the match. My Dad stopped going a few years back, as he's getting on in years, but I'll tell him next time I see him.

I think you and the team did an amazing job. Far better than the 125 stuff

Although I've no idea why you'd invite David Preece. He's a better writer than he ever was a keeper, I'll give him that!

Les Lea was part of that side that included Frank Sharp. Two cracking players there amongst some mediocre ones.

Excellent job done by all involved. The matchday programme was a brilliant read, although I miss the glossy covers that protect them better and think we should go back to them.

It was a shame that after so much work went into inviting back so many, that so few took up the invite. Would have been even less there if we hadn't filled up the line up with so many already working at the club who would have been there anyway.

Whitey, can I make a suggestion for if we ever get old players on the pitch again.

Could we please say a bit about the player, an introduction, when they played, number of appearances, goals scored, highlight from their career. Something like that.

It sounded like out announcer had never seen Barnsley FC, had just been handed a list of names and told to get on with it. When he did try, he made mistakes - Hignett a member of the premier league team???

A bit of homework, a script, make more of it and then the ex players will get more out of it and so will the fans.

Yes, I noticed that bit about Hignett and the Premier League team. If only we had signed him at that time!

I recognised every player coming out and knew something of their history but, as you say, it would have been nice to have said a word or two about each one for those who didn't know them as ex Barnsley players. I suppose it was a time constraint as much as anything. Too many of them to roll out in too short a space of time. I suppose the answer would be buy the programme and read all about them in there (assuming there was a write up for each - I didn't buy one so I don't know).

Time constraints. I did write a little bio of each player, but Sky started flapping so we just decided to announce the names. But if Jason added stuff, I wouldn't know as I was in the tunnel and could barely hear him.

I thought it was a hugely successful event regardless and if there's room for improvement the next time, happy days.

And yes, the programme had interviews with many more players, with many explaining why they couldn't make it.

On the way to Wembley anyway. Onto new memories.
