but it is not our Ryan it is an Australian from Victoria. The team sheet looked a bit weird though. Our Ryan was ruled out through injury. Happy Retirement Ryan.

Disgraceful state of affairs though that the ECCB can play FIVE Yorkshire players in todays ODI while Yorkshire are struggling to avoid relegation in a four day match against Warwickshire.

I love cricket but the set up is all wrong. Counties who are successful are penalised by having their best players cherry picked.

That's Strauss for you. Its like a draft system, London clubs get to play their players. Yorkshire don't .

Let's not pretend county cricket is anything other than a feeder system for the national team. Cricket has changed and players no longer put a shift in at the pit on nights, play for Yorkshire on Wednesday and then England on Thursday.

Ask any of those 5 who they'd rather be playing for today?

I've got to agree with all these comments. It is galling to see Yorkshires finest not being made available for the crunch games this season but county income is very much dependent on the National team and the revenue it generates. That said since Balance was called up for England and then injured we have been a poor batting side. I think Gillespie has been missed big time this season. Let's hope Gale can up his game next year.
