He said ........'I wanted 4 strikers'. That's minimum IMO - and I would imagine Hecky will be thinking the same. So we have 2 or 3 strikers (all of a similar type) when most Championship clubs have about 6 usually with differing skills. That's a massive massive mistake by the club during the transfer window. And that mistake has nothing at all to do with Hecky. Don't blame Hecky !!! Secondly - he said Barnes wasn't injured - Hecky brought him off because he wanted to change things because he thought the team wasn't playing well. IMO Hecky made a mistake here because although Barnsley weren't playing well, they were not allowing QPR to play at all - If things were kept the same as the first half then QPR wouldn't have scored if they were playing this time next week. Moral here is - if it's not broke then don't mend it.
We had three last week - Thiam, Bradshaw and Ugbo. We had three the time before - Bradshaw, Ugbo and Brown. Now we have two or three. Who've you discarded this time?
When we have been reasonably on top within a game, the opposition have altered their formation to 4-4-2(Ipswich + Forest come to mind). This enabled them to impose themselves onto us and force a more torrid time for our team. Prehaps Hecky thought he could pre-empt this by doing this to QPR, but they changed too.
