People should remember David Watson tipped for big things U21 England keeper etc. Absolutely flapped at crosses. All keepers at our level are going to have weak points.

I said at the game he needed dropping as I thought the first goal was soft like the qpr one.

But watching the replay it looks like he didn’t see it until too late.

I thought the second was more forgivable to be honest.

Quality finish from their lad. Opened Davies up to the left and curled it in to the near post at the right. Only so much he can do 1v1 which it basically was

    Your first line nails it.

Our midfield hasn't yet got to the likes of Conor Scowen etc. So naturally our defence and keeper are tested much more frequently.

Had we had the start of last season's midfield we would be having a totally separate discussion. And AD likely wouldn't be mentioned at all

Davies is a quality keeper he could do with some competition for his place though. He does make the odd mistake from time to time but if he didn't he wouldn't be here. He has saved us on many occasions this season and last. One that stands out for me was Burton away last season when we had scowern,Connor,Roberts, winnall ect we got hammered 2nd half and he made save after save to keep us in it. He is a good keeper.

Watson would have been England's number one for years had he not got injured. The only keeper I've ever seen who you'd back to save a 1 on 1 every time.

Thats his job. Drops far too many clangers both goals were poor to let in

Got to disagree. He had two defenders blocking his view of the first one. The second is more subjective. For me he more or less had the post covered but the shot curled wide and back in at pace. I think he'd be disappointed he didn't stop it though.

How was he at fault for the first one? Defenders didn't deal with the throw- shot went through a crowd of players. He has saved us far more points than he's lost us - he's a decent keeper

I think Davis is an excellent championship keeper, yes there is the odd mistake in his game but there is a mistake in every keeper in this league, if there wasn"t , they would be playing at a higher level. I also do not understand the stick Townsend gets on here , yes he looked nervous in his early appearances but that has to be expected while he learns his trade , however , when I have watched him this season in the under 23 "s , he has looked very capable. I think there has to be scapegoats at Oakwell & keepers are a soft target , an outfield player makes a mistake , he usually gets away with it, when a keeper makes one, he gets punished .

i don't think we've ever had a keeper rolling around with the ball in the back of the net like Watson used to do
