One of Cork City's stands has had it's roof blown off. It's lying on top of the seats.
Their match agsinst Derry goes ahead tonight. Only in Ireland.

Must be a bit annoying if your seat is in the bit towards the middle where the roof is down to the pitch. That really would be a restricted view when all you can see is the 2 corners

It'll stop people standing up though ;)

Couldn't the club ask a hundred or so of their big lads to stand up with their arms up, so everyone else could see? :)

Maybe give them all a long handled broom "Come on den boys, hold up dat der roof like good lads"

    Don't give em ideas! :)
City have been on the brink of clinching the title for weeks. They were about 20 points clear by mid season then sold Maguire to Preston and completely hit the wall. They've been on the brink for weeks now but can't get over the line. It would have been a full house tonight so I guess those who had tickets for that stand must be gutted. Unless they go and lose again.

Wednesday would still sell tickets under there but just put the "view may be restricted" disclaimer on the ticket.

Cork just secured the title with a 0-0 draw and a reduced capacity. :)

Just as well they didn't win as the roof may have come off.

shame that had not happened to our West stand roof, then they would have to sort it out.

I perhaps coulda worded the first statement a little better Dave. Thought that a bit after posting it. The West stand is a monument to our past, some might not agree, but it does need a healthy amount of restoration for me.
