I'll let you analyse the wording. Decent article about it here.

Winston Campbell and calvin plumber are black.
Joe Joyce and Phil chambers are white.
There, I've said it out loud.

I'd be inclined to say this is a lie if it wasn't you that had posted this but I don't think you're the type to make this up. I've heard lots of people say this to me about blackboards etc. (kids who were confused and thought it might not be allowed based on rumours, ignorant friends etc.) but I can't imagine a teacher actually saying it. It's not even the black sheep being banned bit, although that is ridiculous and suggests she is paranoid and overcautious to the point of ridiculousness, but then suggesting rainbow instead is just stupid.

I have had a few young white kids who think asking for a black coloured pencil is racist (one generally says it is, another kid says it isn't and then they turn to me in confusion for confirmation), they are obviously hyperaware and needed discussions around what is actually racist and why. Saying that though, I have had a few older black kids who purposefully ask for a black thing (felt tip, book with that colour in a series etc.) with a grin and emphasis on the word like it's a challenge and their mates fall about laughing like it's hilarious.

Terrorism. Men in positions of power abusing women. Disabled people being made homeless an pushed to the point of starvation. The NHS in crisis. A government in name only that avoids democracy and stumbles from crisis to crisis including losing 490 billion quid this week ( and I thought I was bad at budgeting) the police cut so much they can’t defend us. The military cut so much they can’t defend us. A mad orange man threatening nuclear war.

But aye let’s get mad about a nursery rhyme.

I know some nurseries that do it. Not out of any idea of P.C. but to encourage learning. Different colours etc. I’m surprised at something aimed at those over nursery age.

I think it should be changed to baa baa dead sheep.
This could then lead to painting a ridiculous picture of a magic land of loveliness afterwards or a strange land of fire and a dude with horns.
Kids will believe any old ****

I wouldn't imagine there's much to be gained by lying about non football issues on a football forum.
Now, tom Kennedy came as a dead ball specialist.

This doesn't sound like policy, rather an individual either scared to the point of ridiculousness of falling below diversity standards or one who takes offence on others behalf - even when no offence is taken.

For balance, every year at my daughter's junior school they've done a nativity play at Christmas, and the muslim lad in her class has participated fully. His family didn't claim religious persecution and nobodt from the school has been sent to jail for any kind of equality offence.

I'll be honest, I've always taken offence to the nativity plays at my kids' primary schools. Not for religious purposes but because the seats hurt my fat back and the standard of singing is questionable compared to pop voice factor.

I had to sit down at the last one to hide the hot vodka stains I received when I hit the corsy whilst driving there. Luckily I'd been on my phone so it wasn't in my pocket

Thats always been the problem - the actions of a few who for whatever reason dont really understand what they are doing. You can have 999 out of 1000 schools produce a nativity play with no complaints - other than "my daughter should have played Mary" but it only needs one to misunderstant "Political Correctness" and its front page on the Daily Wail

As pointed out above by Stuart Lee Political Correctness and Health and Safety are generally pretty good things, its just when a small minority misunderstand and apply them inappropriately - or use them as an excuse to impose their wishes that there is frustration.

Some alleged stories are really urban myths but undoubtedly some are also true - the case of AndyTyke being a case in point. As pointed out by several posters Baa Baa Black sheep is not a racist nursery rhyme and highlighting the use of the word Black as inappropriate when it is clearly not is just confusing. I am sure its not the LEA policy

If you feel this way you should challenge the school about it's position.

    Nothing changes without protest.

    Get other parents involved.

    Write to your local paper.
