How did he play today do we think hes ahead of Mcgeehan, Moncur and Potts, surely if we have 1 upfront we need attack minded midfielders, Williams more defensive ?

On a few clips i saw today he seemed to get beat on Wednesday attacks....

MOM for me. Grafted and always wanted the ball. Made a couple of mistakes but basically kept us ticking.
McGeehan looked a bit lost, Potts added some physical presence, and Moncur needs to stop taking corners..Waste of time.

He's been brilliant for me this season. Breaks up play well and very rarely loses the ball. Him and McCarthy are players of the season so far.

Joe Williams is very highly rated by Everton. Saw an interesting piece on TV last week as to how they
decide which Club to send their young prospects to. Apparently the Goodison heirarchy hold
Barnsley FC in high regard because we always try to play the right way.
They have a team of observers who regularly attend games in the lower leagues and based on
their recommendations the final decision then rests with Joe Royle who after watching a game himself, decides where to place their young players in order to help their development.
In past seasons it's also been a process which after watching the Reds, they took the decision to sign the likes of John Stones and Mason Holgate.

Joe was good today but needed more support from his midfield partner and unfortunately today cam Mac couldn't provide that. Potts changed the game in midfield and moncur broth dome much needed spark also. Motm for me was McCarthy.

He’s undroppable. Been our player of the season up to now by a country mile

Glad Moncur put a shift in when he came on.

I like Moncur i think Mcgeehan should have had a slower transition into the team, although when ur not getting results have to ring the changes i guess....and then Gardner ......not easy but need em for injuries etc

Williams is the best player we have by quite some distance. First name on the team sheet every week.

Football is great cos we all see things differently.

You can see he's got talent and he does get in the right places and breaks things up. He's confident and always wants the ball but to read he very rarely loses it made this old feller smile.

There's no doubting he's a talent but he loses the ball far too cheaply but he'll sort this out with age and experience
