I've got 2 posters on ignore, because my forehead was taking a battering every time I read their posts. The problem is, I keep getting hints dropped that I'm missing something. Sometimes threads don't make sense, because someone replies to a post that I can't see. I see a "Show Ignored Content" link at the bottom of the page, and sometimes within a post if one of the ignored posters has contributed. I also get messages on Facebook (from the great Gally) with links to posts, but these messages don't respect the ignore function.

Have you any idea how frustrating the "Show Ignored Content" link is? It's like a door marked "private" in your local pub. You're just dying to know what it hides. I can't resist clicking it, then my forehead takes a battering again. I've already destroyed 4 monitors, 2 computer desks, a stone fireplace and an expensive laptop, all with my forehead.

Is it possible to remove the "Show Ignored Content" link please?

Agreed. Should just be able to block posters like Facebook. Job done.

If said posters are often quoted by others don't you just end up seeing most of them anyway?

No, as far as I can tell the quoted bits are missing, but that then sometimes means that the bits I can read don't make sense. However, I can click to reveal them, which is when my circuit-breaker triggers.

If you get the chop from your current job, you could start a one-man demolition business.

I'd imagine that if said posters are very active it must make most threads a bit difficult to follow.

If they start a thread can you see that?

If he gets the chop!!! do you mean to say he hasn't had talks with the consortium, I'm sure if they want him to stay they would have purchased a new laptop and I'm sure a Chinese businessman would be able to source a bigger memory card for his camera.

It doesn't bother me. Most of the time I don't even see the 'Show Ignored Content' bit as it is tiny and I'm used to ignoring it. If something doesn't makes sense, I sometimes check if it is there just to know that I'm not being thick. If I do see it, I ignore it anyway, as to be honest, I doubt it would make much more sense if I included their content anyway.

User blocking system like face book is a paid addon about $40

Although whatever system you use nothing can be blocked altogether as you could just log out and read posts
