If 750k is so huge for Hecky, why don’t we give him half a million a year? We’ll spend that on Thiam etc, but Hecky would be much better value!

It’ll never happen, but just a thought

Completely agree... He is more important than any single player for us

There are unfortunately a whole host of variables to contend with as result of the proposed takeover. It would be great to secure PH’s future but I fear as you do that it’ll not happen, or at least not immediately.

Wow, as simple as that? I wish the club had thought of that.

Can't be that complicated to give the bloke a pay rise. A well deserved one. Our handling of contracts shocking. Look back to the likes of the Butterfield situation. We are not pro active in this area at all. Hecky should have been offered a pay rise in the summer. I know now with a potential pay rise on the cards other factors come in to play. But we could have protected ourselves in the very least to be in a position for more compensation if someone did come calling.

I know that a pay rise, in this current period of possible change, may be difficult, but just think of Hecky actually going to Sunderland & the horror of finding a replacement, the hassle of changing back room staff, new regime wanting to bring in new players of their choice, moving out the players the new regime don’t like.
Also the ‘settling in’ period, getting ‘familiar ‘ with the surroundings & also making sure we get the ‘right’ appointment straight away.

Take all the above, process it & think, £250k increase would actually save the club money!!!!!

Give the ‘ideal’ bloke, the bloke we currently have, as much as it takes, he will be the best contract extension we have made since Ronnie Glavin.

The amount of money we have made from transfers cup runs and promotion these last few seasons we should be able to give hecky a substantial pay rise. If it's true we offered to make hourihane our best paid player ever last season it shows to me that if we want to push the boat out we can.
