Agreed, got plenty of established(ish) midfielders to be working with instead of chucking a youngster in when things get tough! Having said that, I have rated him from glimpses, maybe one for the future?
Davies McCarthy MacDonald Lindsay Fryers Yiadom Williams McGeehan(Last Chance) Barnes Thiam Adeboyajo Subs: Townsend Pearson Pinnock Bird Hedges Bradshaw Brown Left at Home: Potts Sent Home: Ugbo, Gardner Rest Home: Moncur (In reality, I think Hecky will pick the same team as Norwich, with Hedges for Hammill, as the team that played well there tee-to-green is probably more suited to away games than home).
Brilliant. Davies form is currently at rock bottom but it cannot be contemplated that a change is made due to one of Lee Johnson's many bad decisions.
Davis form is not rock bottom & to say he was at fault for the goal against Cardiff is harsh to say the least , the Cardiff players completely boxed him in & we had a chance of clearing the ball which we failed to do
Adeboyajo in front of Bradshaw? You’re having a laugh right? And why is it McGeehan’s last chance? Only been here a few months, recovering from a leg break but nah let’s write him off after a couple of bad performances.
Davies' strength has always been his shot stopping, whilst his cross management and box authority has been his weakness. I am now growing less confident in his shot stopping, which worries me. Last season was a good season for him, maybe because of the players in front of him, giving him security and confidence (to some extent), I can't say the same for this season. I'm not denying improvements have been made, however he isn't consistent enough this season to say he's one of our more experienced players, in a position so crucial. A massive factor in this is the serious lack of competition. I honestly can't see Davies being particularly threatened by Townsend or Walton. What do we do about I'm not sure.
Why am I having a laugh? I'm having a view, is that not allowed? I wouldn't try to stop you or anyone else having one ffs. Having had to endure the last dismal 180 minutes with virtually zero threat on the opposition goal I just want to see some changes. We don't have a strong target man and so I'd like to see us try to inject some pace, to the extent that we have it - admittedly we don't have any real out-and-out flyers. Like I said, just a bit of alternative thinking, not anti-Bradshaw, just something different to give us a kick-start. I watched McGeehan quite a bit at Luton and know what he can do. He's just not doing it, so, no, he, like anyone else can't keep commanding a place in the team if he isn't performing. If he can't recapture his form then he will need to go to the stiffs like anyone else, get fully fit and firing and then come back in when he is. Do you think otherwise? Do you think that it's okay to keep picking players who aren't performing or who play well one game in five? I haven't written him off, only you used that phrase, but I am allowed a view. Cheers. I'll be there tomorrow night and hope all eleven, whoever they are, have absolute stormers.
It’s fair enough that we are drawing blanks and you want to freshen things up but in my opinion Bradshaw is our best striker by far. And I certainly wouldn’t be looking to replace him with someone who’s only played for the u23s. I suppose that’s the position we’re in after missing out on McBurnie and Thiam taking his time to adapt to the championship. Regarding McGeehan, I’m pretty sure “McGeehan (last chance)” are your words and to me, that’s you being very close to writing him off. And of course he can’t command a place in the team if he’s not performing, nobody can and I’m not saying they can or should. I just think it’s very premature to be saying he’s on a last chance. I hope you’re right and we have some storming performances tomorrow. 2 very big games coming up and we need an improvement on our last 2 games.
