I know this is slightly off topic but I personally don't agree with loannees. We run a very costly academy but seem to prefer loan players instead of bringing our own players through. For example Joe Williams is having a good season for us but how do we know young Bird would not be doing just as well given the same game time. Next season Williams will be gone and Bird will still be viewed as an inexperienced U23 gamble. It is as if we don't believe in our youngsters and prefer to take an easier option. I could accept Ugbo playing if he was our player and I thought when he bulks up next season he will be an asset, he will be gone and of no use to us what so ever. Far better that we give Brown the game time, if he is not good enough fine at least we know. I don't watch the U23 games so I may have used bad examples.
