I’ve only just joined and it’s offered me a free bet on the Man U v Man City game, So I stuck a couple quid on 1-0 win for Man U (unlikely I know) then clicked on free bet offer but it’s still charging my account, what am I doling wrong, I know it will be me being a bit of a thicko like.

If you bet £10 on BARNSLEY to win at odds of 5 to 1 you lose £10!

Is the free bet tied to a specific stake amount or rewarded after a bet has been settled?

I'd cut your losses pal, expect these 'free bet' offers to be banned in the near future, they were talking about them all day on five live a few weeks ago and the terms of them are so restrictive you have to play through your 'winnings' so many times that the bookies, more often than not, get all the 'free' money back and more.

If it's the usual offer, you need to place a bet before ko then you qualify for a free bet "in play" upto the same amount.

I agree. There are enough good bets around (at least on paper) without taking on bets where you need to play through your winnings. For example last saturday at 10 am for a short time Hills offered evens for Chelsea to win at home to Newcastle upto twenty quid from odds of 2/9. Today through the Paddy Power android app only you can get 2/1 on Chelsea to win at West Ham half 12, Spurs to win home to Stoke at 3 pm and Liverpool to beat Everton at home tomorrow.

I agree with you DB but I’m new to bet365 and just thought I’d take the freebet offer on the game,

Bossman I bet with Bet365 but avoid all their offers.
Like you I took up on one of their offers and won my bet. But could not withdraw it. I got in touch with them and they gave me a load of waffle that I then had to keep betting and only after I had bet so many times through the bet I would then be able to withdraw.
Does that make sense? No? Same as what I thought. TBH you may have won your bet but Bet365 not in the habbit of paying. They refer you to T&Cs.

I'd say that is the last you have seen of your £2.

TBF they do pay out ok when you win using your own money.

To be honest Ian I actually haven’t lost anything because it let me cash it back out, it’s just confused me because the “free bet” actually charged me, I stuck £2 on and took up the free bet for the same amount,

Like I said Bossman I now avoid all offers. No such thing as free money.

    1. You place a bet before the match on any market up to the value of £10. You will have to pay for this yourself.

    2. Your in play free bet only becomes valid when the game has kicked off you can't see it before because it doesn't appear in your wallet. Your free bet will be to the same value up to £10 as your bet prior to kick off.

I'm going for £10 on over 0.5 goals it's rubbish odds but as long as there's a goal I don't loose my £10.

As soon as the game has kicked off I log into my account and place £10 on any market (I will be going city to win 2-1) this is when the free bet appears in your wallet to use.

If there's a goal in the game I make a tiny profit on my £10 but it's given me a £10 free bet. The only way I can loose is if it's 0-0 as I loose my £10 & haven't won the free bet either. If the game ends city 2-1 I will make about £80.
