No pace anywhere on the field. We have neither height nor pace upfront especially - seems a bit daft to me, either have someone who can get the ball down and run past his man or have someone who can win headers. No one able to take on a player until Moncur came on. midfield sit too close to the back four - if you're going to give players like Huddlestone the ball 10 yards forward of the centre circle he's going to kill you, even if you're "behind the ball" Men V Boys - they brought on a sub who's played in the Premier league and cost twice as much as our entire team, we're never going to match Derby for experience or quality but we can't continue playing kids who are getting their a***es handed to them. I would kill for a Darren Moore in defence and a Matt James in midfield.
Missing Isgrove a lot in that respect. Do you think the "lack of pace" is in part down to the players taking that little bit more time to decide what to do with the ball when it's at their feet? Not disagreeing with your thoughts to be fair, just think a lot of our passing is very "stop start" and we are slow at moving the ball as much as players being physically slow.
I agree that the passing is too slow, and too negative, the players turn inside when they receive the ball and then have to pass back - safe option - your not the one who loses the ball - so you string passes together but its not going anywhere, then you ping it long at Bradders and we lose possession. But also, I mean ball at feet or running into space to receive the ball - not enough pace. I agree, Isgrove should walk into this team if he ever gets fit.
If we had offered Scowen, Roberts, Watkins, Winnall, 3k each per week and a 3 year contract would they have stayed? Also with hindsight of there current careers would their decision be to have stayed. I think they would have all chosen to move still and stick by it now, which if true shows how much ****** football is now. Yesterday it was clear what the financial gulf is we are trying to complete with.
