    The worst App ever.
After years and years of following on Barnsley Player I shall not be renewing.
Last week on holiday abroad it wouldn't allow me to log on to listen to the match
This is not the first time.
    Today, exactly the same.
    It's worse than useless.
I'm missing the home game today but planned on settling down at my sister's listening to the match.
    I've paid for a service that I can't access.
Good luck to those who can.
    It's a rotten service
Fed up to the back teeth with the crap service

Have you tried asking their support team for assistance?

I've not had any trouble with it, whether listening on my phone or laptop. The only issue I had was when they first switched over and I had issues with my subscription, but the support team sorted it in seconds for me.

My main gripe with it is that you can't listen on the app and have the screen locked at the same, or at least for any longer than 5 minutes. When I raised why this was, they just said that you can't listen on the lock screen which is a bit daft. So if I'm out and about, I have to walk around with my phone in my hand when I'm doing the food shop or whatever.

it is pi$$ poor. problem is, these companies have got many clubs over a barrel really. it's either go with a standard platform - which means you basically get what you're given - or build your own, which i imagine costs a few quid. Add to that, a lot of content isn't behind a paywall anymore. definitely need to raise their game

I'm still annoyed that they put the price up, reduced the content you could access to only one team and made the subscription literally last a season rather than a year meaning you get less months access (no idea how you are supposed to watch or listen to anything in the last few weeks of close season). All at the same time.

Personally I can't understand why any one would want to fork out for it.

Is that on your phone Tina? Try clearing cache and restart your mobile. It might work, worth a try anyway.

If you're using Safari browser clear cache, cookies etc then restart your iPad or try a live chat with an iFollow adviser.

Tina, I believe the new iFollow service requires you to pay for a season pass to access it from abroad, or alternatively to pay for a single match pass (£5 I think). This is because there's live video available. At the start of this season I had the same experience as you - it didn't work when I was in Germany. Eventually I forked out over £100 for a season pass, which worked well and I watched live matches in Spain and Germany, on my laptop using WIFI. However, I had problems using my phone on Saturday trying to watch the Fulham match. This is my experience...

I was stuck at Innsbruck airport all day, about 8 hours, because of a flight delay (and eventual cancellation) caused by bad weather. I was logged into the airport WIFI, and as match time approached I downloaded the iFollow App and tried to watch the match. At first it worked, and I watched the first 10 minutes or so.

After that it started to buffer, presumably because loads of people were on the airport WIFI. So, since I've got a decent data package, I turned off WIFI and logged in again on mobile data. It wouldn't let me in, saying I couldn't access the service from within the UK. The last time I looked Innsbruck was in Austria. I emailed support, but got no immediate reply, so I couldn't watch any more of the match, despite having paid over £100 for a season pass.

Eventually I got a reply from support, saying because I had a UK SIM I could not use mobile data with the service, even though I was abroad. To use the service, I have to use WIFI, not my mobile data. I didn't know that when I signed up, and I think it should have been made clear. I thought it was my location that was important, not my SIM. To me, that's not acceptable - I don't always have access to WIFI overseas, and even if I do it's often not fast enough for video streaming as loads of others are on it.

I've not started arguing with them yet (it's Christmas after all), but for me it's simple - if I can't use iFollow on mobile data when overseas, I've been ripped off, and I will be cancelling and insisting on a refund if they can't let me use the system on mobile data. I know that's not quite the issue for you, but I just though it might help with understanding what's going on.

Thanks so much for that Stahlrost, it explains and clarifies a lot.
    I'm not going to renew.
I'll miss Matt and his commentaries for sure but I do go to most games home and away anyway. It's really frustrating me that I'm paying for a service I can't access.
I used to listen to the old Barnsley Player in Spain whenever I was there and we had a match but now they won't let you have a sniffer if you haven't paid up.
Your post explains a lot and I'm grateful for it x

I had same trouble Tina. I logged out, shut the program down and shut the phone. Then logged in again, I’ve got it now.
    I agree it’s unreliable.
