Shame to see him go back. Why not just give him a full season of Championship play to build up some experience? Now he'll be on the bench mostly I suppose unless he's loaned out elsewhere.

Not even in their squad today either.

Enjoyed watching him - sometimes thought he didn’t get involved enough (and yes I know he scored and assisted in a good % of goals).

Premiership teams want to see their young players developing, we are not doing that with Barnes

Well that's things going quite markedly worse during the transfer window, rather than better.

Barnes was the only one who looked like he could create a goal for himself, and the one most likely to create a goal for someone else.

    Oh dear.

Be loaned out at a club nearer the top.
Hecky chopping and changing bit too much as he’s nursing the young players through their first full season in quite a physically demanding league.
Think Leicester want him playing every game and with us struggling.

Would have liked to see him more centrally. Ideal in formation we are playing today, cutting inside.
Hedges is the only other one who looks like scoring, cutting inside like Barnes did.
Isgrove is great for pace, but doesn't have the shooting ability.

He'll be a huge loss in my opinion. One of the very few creative players we have who can conjure up a chance for himself or others. We'd be a fair few points worse off without his contributions. He's gone quiet recently, not surprising given the form of the team, but I rated him as our best attacking talent. I struggle to see where midfield goals are coming from now, with no other midfielder appearing to have that attacking threat Barnes had. Perhaps Hammill may step up, or Isgrove can remain fit, but it's a concern.

    According to transfermarkt
    We've played 2529 minutes
    He's played 1494 minutes
Meaning he's played roughly 59% of the total time played by us. Or to put it another way he's missed 41% of game time.

He's started 20 out of 28 and come off the bench another 5 times failing to play completely in just 3 games. However he's only managed the full 90 minutes 4 times.

IF Izzy stays fit, he's better
