I was thinking more in terms of the position they foresee themselves being in when they rejoin the Championship...
I assumed you meant that now they have no more parachute payments left, they're saying realistically you can't compete in the Championship on turnover of less than £10m. The parallel is with us pre the takeover.
Similar attenance 11-12 thousand maybe hard for all clubs to have the finances to compete at Championship level be amazing if sunny Scunny get promotion again.
It wasn't for failure. It was for getting promoted. You get promoted and you get. x amount while you are in the league and a much smaller amount for 3 (ish) years after you leave the league. It's not like they get nowt while they're up and suddenly get paid for going down.
I've read that as they'll be losing money from this year as there parachute payments have ran out. We're self sufficient, they need to work harder to get there.
The 17 million is for failure. All parachute payments are only triggered by relegation. Ergo can only be the result of failure.
Parachute payments can only be triggered by relegation. If you never fail you never receive them. Of course it’s a reward. What do we get if we get relegated? Nowt as it should be.
Not that I’ve ever heard of. Have you got a link to them? Do they last for an extended period? If so we would be rewarded for failure.
I'm not sure what the payments are for this year but they've been around for a while. Teams relegated to the conference even get them for two years.
Can you post a link to them. Are you confusing them with consolidation payments that are based on League position?
Its not info on this season but it gives the idea https ://www.efl.com/news/2015/november/league-increases-parachute-payments-to-relegated-clubs/
