    I must have been born in Becketts then as I'm pre 74 never thought about it I just pesumed BGDH, learn something new every day. I'll ask mi mam tho. Cheers

    Before BDGH was built St Helens hospital was on the same site. Thats where I was born in 1952.

    I'm looking at making a similar move in the next 18 month all been well, looking at moving to Talysarn or Waunfaur area

    Yes in 1971ish, before that Barnsley was a County Borough and not part of the West Riding. Areas on the periphery like Cudworth, Royston etc were all in the West Riding but not Barnsley which had its own status.

    Yeh it was a CB not part of WRCC like hoyland N wombwell worsbro wortley etc were.. but it was in WR . Says it on my BC.. I'm guessing it was BDGH

    Parents both born in Barnsley. I was born in Holmfirth and moved to the midlands when I was a teenager, Been supporting the reds since 67-68. My son was born in Walsall but guided by me is a lifelong supporter too.

    Born in Sheffield in 1981, lived in Swinton until age 7, Wath until 18 when I left for York uni.

    After uni I had a 10 month spell back in Wath before moving to York permanently in 2004.

    Born and brought up in Wombwell before going to uni in Manchester. Moved back to work in Sheffield and settled in Rotherham as wife is from Derby and we're near the M1 for both sets of parents and work. I'd rather live somewhere more rural like Wentworth or Penistone but travel dictates.

    I have a picture of a Talysarn man as the wallpaper on my phone...Idwal ap Ieuan Jones.....a stunt pilot with Sir Alan Cobham's Flying Circus in the 1930's .
    That's the first time I've ever seen the village mentioned by anyone outside my own research on him.

    Born in Wakefield...lived in South Hiendley...Armthorpe...Edenthorpe...moved to Barnsley
    ( Ardsley) when I was about 9, I'm fortunate enough to remember Tarn when it was a unique, interesting quirky place before the council decided to knock most of the best bits down.... last 25 years I've been in Mexborough.
