Said it all along and nowt's happened today to change my view that if we stay where we are in the Championship this season with this group of players then Hecky's a ******* genius and should be knighted, minimum.

 

What if we finish bottom of the league?

There seems to be a fug surrounding the question of who has the final say over which players get recruited.

Who has decided at the end of the day that we recruit e.g. McCarthy, or Mallan, or Potts?

And is this recruitment decision still following these existing principles, this January?

in the past we have sacked far too many managers and hoped that the next manager will turn it around and instantly make us great.

patience is a virtue that no longer seems to apply to football due to the amount of money involved but that does not mean we have to follow suit.

I believe that given time, patience and support that Hecky will establish us in the championship with the support of the new owners to allow him the resources required.

in a lot of ways Hecky is serving his managerial apprenticeship with us and is learning his trade the hard way due to having to rebuild a side on peanuts.

we all knew the spending power, squads, wages and resources of the teams in the championship at the start of the season so what did we expect? did we think that miracles could be worked and we would be top six? or did we think that we would be lucky to stay up and any thing out of the bottom four would be a bonus?

If we finish bottom I’d be disappointed. I’d say we are the 2nd worst team in the League so anything below that is poor anything above including third bottom is overachievement.
