...that if some folk get their wish and Hecky leaves, whoever takes over has a freebie.

If we go down it will no doubt be Hecky’s fault.

I’d love to know the demographic of supporters who are advocating PH leaving.

I suspect, don’t know - but suspect, that the majority will be among the younger supporters. Perhaps ones too young to remember prior to the premier league - both us being in it and before it even existed.

I’d say perhaps even a lot that did not live through the fear of the club disappearing altogether in 2002/03, and the dross which was played in that era.

I myself only go back as a fan to the early nineties, but I get the feeling that some of these ‘supporters’ have a very thin grasp of the reality of what has happened to the football club and can’t see that the root of the issue is nowhere near the first team coach.

Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong

I think Hecky has a FREEBIE this season and also next season with what he has had to put up with.
And I said this back in JANUARY 2017.

Hardly anyone wants him to leave, I'd say about 3 or 4 on here at the most. I reckon there's over a hundred on here who'd prefer him to stay, and thousands out there in the real world.

There’s a few of the local villages missing their idiots is all. I have know the bad, the worse and the shockingly indifferent. This season is no different.

Correct. The vast majority are still fully behind Hecky.

I don't believe you are wrong Troff. But even if I did I may not be right - thing is none of us really know. We may present it as such but we don't, it's merely our view.

That said, my view like yours is that the majority of the 'Hecky out' camp are younger. I also have a view that part of the reason is that they have grown up in a world in which the internet and social media presents an environment in which immediate feedback / gratification is the norm, in which they receive and expect an immediate response which in turn creates a need to express an immediate view. That's why the Tykes Talk FB group goes into meltdown when we lose, as often does the BBS.

Then again, I may be talking b*ll*cks because I'm an old git born before the internet!

Hecky is like the players we are signing, young ,plenty of potential but not the finished article. He's still learning his trade , stick with him for me even if the unthinkable happens and we go down , 5 year plan and all that.

I don't want him sacked nor would I be bothered if he was. I think the fact there's certain people who think PH can't be in any way shape or form criticised causes a divide of Ins and Outs. Tbf he's been a disaster for over a year now and if he wasn't from Barnsley 99% of fans would want him gone.

Your opinion that he's been a disaster for over a year is purely that... an opinion....not a fact.

I couldn’t give a frig that he’s from Barnsley. I’m not. Never lived any closer to Barnsley than the north side of donny.

Don’t get me wrong, I can see that him being local, and a supporter, gives an affinity.

However this can be seen to be a hinderence as much as an assistance in some eyes.

I’m behind him because i saw the team develop in front of my eyes. Did he sign all the players? No. Had they improved before he took over? Yes.

But were they the team that was on the brink of the championship top six? Nothing close. The team started last season quietly and under his tutelage became a side up there with the best I have seen in my twenty odd years of watching.

The downturn has been under him. After nearly all of his side were sold from under him.

I am not 100% convinced like some are that Hecky is completely amazing. I am however of the opinion that having made the team as good as it was twelve months ago or thereabouts, he deserves the opportunity to show his worth when given one or two players of equivalent quality. The players that left were all coached into better players; in time the ones we have can be if they have some better and more experienced players around them.

Like I said I don't want him sacked but at the same time I wouldn't be bothered if he was. He's nothing special like some would have you believe but I agree he did a good job up until last January. Since then though he's been as poor as the results suggest.

As anyone who has discussed anything on here for many years will tell you, I never resort to insults...even though you have described me as an 'idiot', I will not lower myself to your level...
You clearly stated " Tbf he's been a disaster for over a year now ".....obviously that to you is a fact, why else would you have put it in black and white ?....or did you not really mean it?

Just stop making yourself look silly and admit you were wrong, you've been pulled up on it and had your arse slapped. Now move on.

Really....it doesn't feel like that to me...you just made a statement there that you obviously believe to be true...it's commonly known as stating a fact...or at very least a fact as you know it, do you now consider it not to be a fact then?

Come on you offered an opinion as a fact you were called in it. Time to hold your hands up and move on.

Again where have I stated fact? I didn't so what makes you think you have to take it as one? Although if you wanna look back at results over the past year they would probably point to it being FACT.

If Cryne wasn't from Barnsley how many people would say he's been a poor owner? Run us on a shoe string. Refused to 're invest the money the club earnt. Set us on a path clear for failure this season. Come out with a lot more money then he paid in.

Just to clarify I think he had very good reasons for running the club as cheaply as possible. I may not agree with everything that was done but that doesn't make it wrong. I also think he deserved his money for time spent as owner when he never actually wanted it.
It just seems as though people want someone to blame and Hecky is a easy target.
