Ever known a player at Oakwell miss training due to jury service?

I believe there’s a player who I won’t name been summoned for next month.

I'm curious what your next made up "inside connection" spurious tale will be. A player that can't be named buys shirts at TK maxx for nights out then takes them back the next day for a full refund, just tucks the tags in.

Can't see it being an issue, the most it would be (under normal circumstances) would be missing an odd training session.

Not saying it’s an issue. Just wondered if anyone could recall it happening before.

I imagine for legal reasons it's not normally the sort of thing that's well publicised.

I think I would see it as a major issue simply because if its a 2/3 week trial yhe guys got to be in court when he should be training so this could/ would affect his match fitness ( ability to work) for a couple of months after

Depends where he lives as to which Court he has to go to. If it's Sheffield Crown there's nothing to stop him applying to do it elsewhere, say at Leeds or Bradford.

No but I’m sure that players have been initially selected previously, it’s not something that would be published however.

On a personal note, I’d love to be selected.

No choice in that regard unfortunately. I know a fair few who’ve had rather mundane affairs whilst others have actually worried at being involved due to the severity of the matter being tried.

Cases I was involved with shouldn't even have reached court - waste of everyone's time and money

From doing it myself & speaking to others that have most don’t enjoy it.

It all depends on the case you get, if you get one at all, many of us came in & sat for hours waiting to get a case & you’d just end up been sent home in the afternoon day after day with you not needed.

Some including myself got a really petty case others were upset & hated it because they’d got a kiddy fiddling case.

I imagine if you get a robbery trial or something pretty interesting then it might be ok but a lot of the trials are either incredibly petty or upsetting when it’s sex offenders, rapes etc
