The majority of comments you read from Oxford fans say they want him sent back. Played mostly out on the left. Doesn’t sound like he’s done enough to command a place in the centre. Over 100 Championship games to his name and both a fans and players Player of the year award. It’s sad how at just 22 he’s slipping so quickly. He should be tearing that League up.
I was impressed with the highlights reel of his time at Leeds. He seemed to have talent. Unfortunately that only gets you so far. You have to have the steel and determination. Conor had it and made himself a fine player. One or two who have followed him seem to lack it.
yea what a shame , hes got the talent but not the application required at this level , leeds knew it as well
Yes, I was definitely surprised at how easily they let him go. I still think he was worth a punt though, considering what he's capable of doing.
Yeah I don’t think there was many complaints from people on here when we signed him. Looked an excellent signing on paper.
Same mentality as Dale Jennings. Both of them are wasting their talent and letting their careers pass them by.
I think Dale Jennings has completely dropped out of football. Such a shame, and easy to point fingers. I get the impression that he was suffering from mental health issues which were not properly addressed.
I think you're right that he's been without a contract for a couple of years now. You might be right about his mental health but I don't think we'll ever know.
I think I heard something about that. I really hope that she gets better, and in turn he can get his career back on track.
Back in 2015, Liverpool, Everton and West Ham were rumoured to be after him. With Hull City planning £7m bid. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/hull-enter-alex-mowatt-transfer-5473506
It’s a shame. You can’t question his fitness. There was only Jason McCarthy who was fitter than him when they did the bleep tests in pre-season, so he’s obviously looking after himself & training hard & the talents clearly there. Maybe it’s a confidence issue from been dumped by his first club after been linked with big money moves.
did you notice how much timber he'd shifted in pre season. I know someone who is a family friend and they said he'd been on a strict diet and was running most days
Reports from Oxford don’t bode well, and he seemed a complete ****** when with us. Might not be a complete lost cause if he’s worked hard on his fitness.
Leeds knew he was heading nowhere - might even be tough for us to shift him in the summer as he’s probably on decent money
A couple of Leeds fan work associates gave it the old 'You're welcome to him' guff when we signed him. I assumed it was sour grapes and thought he'd be a great signing. When it clearly wasn't working out, I questioned them why they took that stance to which they said his attitude. Mind, a mate of mine had him come and present trophies at his kids' football team presentation and said he was smashing and stayed most of the evening, so he must be a decent fella. But then again, I think Prince Phillip is a decent fella, but couldn't see him as our midfield enforcer.
The end of last season I was thinking to myself “if he can get himself fit and have a good pre season, he might be decent.” So when he was impressing during the bleep test, I was hopeful. It’s not worked out though, here or Oxford, so I’d be surprised if he’s here much longer.
