If every player in the first 18 was on £30k a week, that would not only destroy the financial fair play rules, it would also be an outgoing of almost £30million a year. How on God's earth is that pocket change?

The owners wealth is completely irrelevant. He may be valued at 9 billion. He has that for a reason, what makes you think he's going to blow all his wealth on a 2nd division football club, and neglect the hundreds of other business interests he probably has.

Everything isn't as black and white as you seem to make out.

At the end of the day our new owners are far far richer than our last ones so you'd expect far far more money to be spent. It's not rocket science.

I believe some older fans get stuck in thinking like the old days. For example a lot were blind to the fact that Danny Wilson was a disastrous appointment because they saw him 20 years earlier or they see the likes of Leeds, Forest and Wednesday as big super powers that can't be touched where as I just see them as clubs on par with us for well over a decade which is all they are really.
