A set piece specialist is absolutely vital now and has been since Hourihane left

Imagine Moore, Pinnock, Lindsay, Potts, McCarthy and Bradshaw in the box with a player consistently whipping quality balls in. It would be quite the weapon with the aerial prowess and finishing ability of the two strikers. We'd certainly get more goals.

Of course when you look at last season it was the free-kicks that pushed us over the line against QPR, Leeds, Birmingham & Derby. That simply won't happen with Fryers frequently over hitting them or Williams passing it sideways. We'd be mad not to think about that in our recruitment this window.

in the one game he's started we've not put him on set piece duty so I don't think they've taken notice of the talents he's shown north of the border

Did you watch the game he started?

He took our free kicks and corners.

I take it, that you being the person critical of all things BFC , do not actually attend games, otherwise you would have seen Mallens debut at Oakwell, where he was on set piece duty & has an obvious talent for the job , he may not be a regular in the side yet but he is getting more involvement & having set piece quality in his locker, may well help his cause

Mallan definitely that man re set pieces. However it's his all round play that Hecky wants to improve.

After the signing of Moore it did cross my mind how this current squad plus Hourihane would have fared. We now have some good defenders, good defensive midfielder and a front line. We do need a box to box midfielder who marshalls everything like conor did. Clearly moncur and mcgeegan not seen as ready or too attacking rather than all round? And Potts / Gardener not quite good enough so far but maybe improving?

I remember Fryers taking a lot in the first half and mallan taking the odd corner but we weren't utilising it as we could.

    I've got a season ticket

Oh and I am certainly not all critical that is just your perception. When I post positive stuff after a win (which I would usually do) it obviously doesn't stick in peoples brains.

All I know is, every time we lose , you are immediately posting a very aggressive thread , your prerogative but do not understand why you are always hostile & that does stick in my brain

You say you are passionate & put your views for everyone to discuss & in my opinion , they are usually way over the top & certainly not warranted , others may differ but I always believe it is worth standing back a while before jumping into a knee jerk reaction

Have you actually taken any notice of how many goals we concede ? We have defenders/ defensive midfielders that give acres of space to the opponents in and around our box !!

Had a few clean sheets recently. Admittedly Saturday goals conceded were embarrassing. Think tho the personnel at back looking promising and hopefully Jackson back soon

Do you think the captain of a team with aspirations of going to the Premier league, would consider dropping to a relegation battle ?
