Imminent? Aye, if he flogs a few players in the next few minutes. http://www.readingchronicle.co.uk/s...ley_s_Tom_Bradshaw_as_striker_hunt_continues/
I like Bradshaw but wouldn't be too upset to see him leave if we had a replacement ready (e.g. Fletcher). I know he's scored a few goals this season but don't think he really suits our style of play when playing one up top. Think Thiam is much more effective at making the ball stick. Hopefully Moore could offer a bit more presence also.
Reading the article it sounds like they have no money and need to sell before they buy so could we set a silly price to put them off!
I would much rather have Bradders over Thiam any day. Thiam may well be able to hold it up better but even with Thiam in the side we have still not been great in recent weeks and he's done nothing yet to show me that he is going to be a consistent goal scorer. 1 goal from the penalty spot is not inspiring. Bradders has hit double figures and literally feeds off scraps most weeks.
Thiam may make the ball stick , unfortunately he does not stick it in the net , Bradshaw does , I hope we do not sell him
Fletcher not proven himself at championships level but Bradshaw as that’s the big difference we can’t make judgments on nostalgia regarding Fletcher
Yeah, they can have him. Top scorer with 18 months left on his contract, not yet at his peak. £9million is a good opening bid.
Early days for Thiam, plenty of time to add goals to his game. Took Bradshaw a year to get up to championship standard. I just see more in Thiam's overall game. I'm not saying I want us to sell Bradshaw, just wouldn't be as gutted as I was when we lost others (e.g. Winnall, Hourihane, Watkins).
Fair point, I don't want to get rid either. But still think we've looked a better team of late (e.g. Sunderland) when Thiam has started though.
With Reading's purported ambitions I would have thought they are aiming a little lower than their fan base would expect.
Unless he’s got a clause agreement which knowing us we probably have otherwise it should be a decent fee before we consider it. 6m plus.
I know it is early days for Thiam but as a striker I would expect more than what he has provided so far. Bradshaw did take time to adapt to this league but he still scored a fair few last season. I like Thiam but to me he doesn't seem like a striker. I think he would be best played out wide in a 433 type formation which we don't play. Early days for him yet as you say still, I do hope he comes good as we spent 1 million on him which is a lot for us to spend.
As someone else said - an immediate opportunity for the new owners to set their stall out and make it clear they're not about to make the mistakes of previous seasons. Not for sale, unless it's north of £7M. Stupid? Possibly, but Huddersfield are about spend £11M+ on a Championship midfielder.
If we taking Thiam penalty off shall we take Bradshaw off too? And the two goals that weren't actually his? And the 3 in the cup that aren't relevant to our survival. He's down to 5 now.
We play Bradshaw facing the wrong way. We play him back to goal which is not his game. Play him facing goal with wingers n full backs getting beyond defenders pulling the ball back n Bradshaw will get 20+ goals this season with a good foil at side of him
