It is indeed. And I think he has more to offer at the moment but I do feel his goal scoring record this season has been slightly over played.
I'm not too fussed about Bradshaw going. That said, I'd be happy for him to stay and see how he goes on with a strike partner. I know he was our top scorer until Moores arrival, but I really don't enjoy watching him play. Even with a strike partner he still has to find a yard of space in the box for him to score because he is limited in terms of shooting from any kind of distance and heading isn't his strongpoint either. He's just too nice.
Wouldn't argue with that, unfortunately one up top has given us the most success this season, and in this formation the striker has to play with his back to goal and bring others into play. Something which I think Bradshaw struggles with. Maybe we can be more successful playing 442 if we bring another midfielder in during the window.
Not sure it's that simple unless you are suggesting new wingers and full backs and probably midfielders to support this too. Do agree he is no good as 1.
It has somewhat yes. And I know I would expect more goals from my main striker and I am sure he would have preferred to have scored more. The big thing for me is that Bradshaw has scored goals throughout his career at most clubs he has been at and is a proven scorer maybe not in this league as of yet but in the other leagues he has been at. When you look at Thiam's record he has not had a good goal to game ratio at any of his clubs really so is yet to prove he can score regularly at any level. We need to keep hold of Bradders and start playing to his strengths and I am sure we will see the benefit.
I don't think we will ever play to his strengths. I think he will be better suited to playing off a partner. It would seem to me Bradshaw would be at his best playing in a side who a creating a lot of chances so the ball is in the box a lot and he can be the fox in the box. I don't see us playing that way while we are a championship side at any rate. I feel we will be better suited to either a big strong hold it up type or/and someone with some pace. All that said I do think he deserves a chance playing with some support around him.
I am not knocking Thiam , you cannot help but like him , but we have been struggling all season for goals & if you take Bradshaws contribution away then we would be in a sorry state
OK, so he has won, or scored with the odd header? OK. What I'm saying, and I've seen all but one of the games hes been involved in since we signed him, is that heading isn't his strongpoint. Of course he'll win the odd one now and again.
Maybe so, got to hope others start contributing more in the second half of the season. Hopefully Moore can hit the ground running, but it's a big ask. Also think it's difficult for our strikers when being constantly rotated.
Totally agree with bringing a ball playing/creative midfielder in its something we’ve been missing all season. A lot of things have changed this season regarding players n formations but I still believe in a basic way of playing but I do find that playing 1 lone striker may have been productive in not conceding goals as much but it also restricts us going forward because we don’t press like we do in a 4-4-2 n we don’t commit players forward as much either but that’s just my opinion
In today’s market, Bradshaw is a £6m striker, very much doubt Reading are gonna offer anything near to that
Until another player gets 11 goals for us,he will still be our top scorer. Moores goals dont count for us.
Put it this way... Huddersfield Town are about to make an improved £11m bid for Norwich striker Pritchard, who has scored less goals than Bradshaw in a better team. This is the market we're currently in. Regardless of Bradshaw's true value, given our lack of need for transfer funds, nothing less then a very good bid should be even considered.
To be honest this season we’re missing goals from all parts of midfield on regular basis ie Glavin/Redfern/Howard n Hourianne kind of goal scoring midfielder to take the pressure of our strikers something we’ve had in abundance over the last few seasons
But that's just splitting hairs. It's irrelevant to my point of view of Bradshaw at this point in time.
Agree, think Barnes contributed while here but he's obviously left as well now. Would be interested to see what Mallan could do if given a run of games. Can clearly strike the ball and think he would also offer a better delivery from set pieces than Fryers or Hammill. Not convinced Hecky trusts him enough to start though.
No outfield goal in 18 games and currently on a match scoreless run. Bradshaw in his first 18 games for us had already scored three. Bradshaw is by far our best striker and if we sold him it would show little has changed and lessons haven't been learned.
