The goalkeeper from Bill Shankly's great Liverpool team of the 1960's has passed away at the age of 77. He was an excellent Scottish goalkeeper during a period of time when the English press frequently mocked them. http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/announcements/286865-rip-tommy-lawrence
Sad news - first Liverpool goalkeeper I remember - from the days as a kid when I collected those cards and stuck them in a book
He came back after a summer break and told Shanks he’d lost weight. Shanks went barmy and told him to put it all back on. Really good keeper. RIP.
Great Liverpool Keeper was Tommy RIP .....I bought a pair of black Lawrence trainers from Midwood Sports once don’t know if there was a connection with Tommy though
Yes I Thought he was a large keeper affectionately known as " the flying pig " because of his agility
Yes, remember him well, great keeper, the on street interview from Look North West is a classic, interviewer asks random man in the street if he remembers the 1967 Derby, yes he replies, I played in it, who are you...Tommy Lawrence...class..RIP TL
Midwood sports. That takes me back. A bit like Neals music shop up the arcade, march the tailors and greenwood furniture shop.
That must be before my time. I used to buy violin strings there. I bought my first stereo from wigfalls ? 1975.
