We've abart six less players than we started with. I have to say I've been a bit underwhelmed so far. Fair enough, our relegation rivals haven't done much but I don't really care what they do. I hope we bring in at least three more players (hopefully more) to not only improve our chances of survival, but also to give us more of an idea of what the consortium is about and where we might be shopping in the summer.
Only Ugbo, Barnes and McGeehan could be considered first team players though. Including loaned out U23 players might make for a good headline, but doesn't quite reflect the relevant changes.
Well if we're doing that we can also include everybody down to the under 11s. Why the club insists upon having 100 players is beyond me. Sack the board.
Don't think he's saying we haven't. Just saying that some of six aren't particularly of value to the first team squad. As Skryptic says, if thats your thought process we should be including all the way down to the U11s.
I know for some people, the club just continuing to exist is enough to have them in raptures and to bestow unending praise on the club. I live in hope of a little bit more than that.
If he wasn't part of the remainder of the seasons plans why not send him out on loan? 11 days into their first transfer window is not sufficient time to judge the new owners intentions.
Over 3/4 of the way now. Will we see a late flurry or will we go into February woefully under staffed??
Assuming the French lad signs, we've signed 3 and lost 3 first team players. I agree we still need bodies, but I don't doubt that the club are trying to bring people in. In an ideal world, we'd all have loved 6 players in by now like Sheffield United have, but other factors limit that sadly. The fact that the 2 we've brought in appear are permanent signings is encouraging, the French lad is also meant to be a permanent signing. Pillinos has championship experience also which is a slight improvement on the recruitment strategy in that position in the last few years and he had a decent length of time left on his contract which shows we're going for players we want as opposed to ones that are available. That's how I see it anyway.
Yes I would reject it. He’s 6 months into a 3 year contract and has the potential the bring in more than £6 million. From the mass sales of players we’ve had in the last year, it’s not like we will be pressured into needing the money. Let’s build on the better players we have here rather than sell them, surely you can agree on that?
