He seems to think they'd get a bigger exit vote second time around. I think he'd be in for a very big shock. Bring it on.
I think remain would get the bigger majority this time will never happen though. But if remain wins may aswell do third time lucky.
Pretty sure remain would prevail but a 2nd referendum would put a major dent in democracy so any government would be brave to allow it.
I genuinely do. I think people have become very entrenched in their views. It would depend if the 35 percent who didn’t vote or a significant portion of them did and which way they voted. More division and squabbles either way with the losers not accepting it.
Its not going to happen - and I have no idea why Farage would want one but can you explain how a second referendum would put a major dent in democracy? Assuming once we know the terms of exiting the EU having a referendum for people to accept or reject them seems fairly democratic for me
That was my thinking - I think a the inert 35% would vote which would swing it. I think a lot of people didn’t bother voting because they assumed it would never happen
Not what was said... Farage for Telegraph: “To be clear, I do not want a second referendum, but I fear one may be forced upon the country by Parliament. That is how deep my distrust is for career politicians.”http://www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2018/01/11/do-not-want-second-vote-brexit-fellow-leavers-must-ready-fight/ …
“So maybe, just maybe, I’m reaching the point of thinking that we should have a second referendum on EU membership . . ."
Had people who voted leave known what a pig's ear this government would make of leaving would they still vote leave? I voted remain as I simply didnt believe this government were capable of getting a deal that would benefit me as a working class man with a young family.... I stand by that decision 18 months on I'm still none the wiser as to what deal we are getting.
https://www.irishtimes.com/news/wor...to-idea-of-second-brexit-referendum-1.3351818 He’s changed his mind again.
I get what your saying but it’s underninin The terms of exiting the EU won’t reflect the long term advantages it’s obvious Brussels want to make an example of us to protect what’s left of a subsiding dictatorship... so although I’m sure remain would provide a pretty good justification & persuade a lot of leavers to reconsider the majority of public who voted leave will take insult and see it as a way of remainers who didn’t get the answer they liked first time round trying to undermine their decision. Regardless of what is right I think you’ll find people will stand by their original decision.
If we did have another vote, then , it would be the end of democracy in this country , we have had a vote , we should abide by the result , it was a democratic decision , end of
