If playing him means we don’t have to watch the Davies to Potts goal kick combo then I hope he starts every game.

In all seriousness though he’ll probably win us at least 6-7 headers a game up there where usually we’re lucky to win one.

I think he won 4 today in the short time he was on and also set up Moncur and Hammill in what were our 2 best chances of the game.

If we can get players close to him he’ll be very useful and hopefully be a goal threat too.

Promising little cameo. Look forward to seeing how he settles against ‘weaker’ teams. Their centre backs are beasts.

    Good in defense too

If we can get a midfield two to allow us to play 2 upfront I think he and Bradshaw could be good together

Agree with you I'd like to see them up top together

Good start in a difficult game, but winning headers isn't all we can look forward to. He also looks to have a bit of pace, and in his brief time on the pitch he almost supplied an assist for Moncur when he stretched to knock a low cross into his path.

Had Moncur scored, Moore would have had more assists in 25 minutes that Bradshaw has in something like 30 games.

That could be a big plus for us if we get the midfield lads pushing on to support him.

It's refreshing to have a chance of winning a long ball!

Was it just me, or did we go almost 442 in that last few minutes after Thiam came on? He was certainly much further forward than any of the other midfielders had been all afternoon, and him & Kieffer Sutherland paired up well.

It all went strange in the last few minutes - Wolves brought on what seemed to be forward after forward, and at least our own subs weren't brought on to defend what we'd got.

Today was one of those rare games where it was immensely tactical without being boring.

not just you, definite 442 when thiam came on. Moore looked great i think. Makes such a difference with someone competing form goal kicks and long balls.

Was impressed in the short cameo. Win headers, held it up well and showed a bit of pace. Give him good service and he will get goals

I’m now quietly confident that Williams and the ever improving Gardner could effectively compete in a central midfield two.

I'm not certain but I think their last change brought on a holding midfielder

When Williams has served his ban it seems to me we will have to try 4-4-2 with Keiffer and Bradders/Thiam up front. It would have been much too dangerous to do that against Wolves, except for that brief thrash at the end. We now need to try and secure Gardner and have another go at getting Williams, or identify replacements for them before the summer. We owe it to Hecky to not make him have to start all the work with the next season upon us again.
