Mate saw it on Twitter. My ex-girlfriend's new bloke supports Djurgårdens, and she's reported back that Mrabti is 'amazing, the best in the team, but is going to be expensive.' This at a club which finished third in their top division and qualified for the Europa League. He's not an under-the-radar signing like we normally go for: he's won three senior caps for Sweden and is playing at a pretty high level, I would say. We can probably afford the transfer fee. It's the wages that would concern me.
Can't imagine he'll be on huge wages in Sweden. My friend is from Dijon and his brother is a fan. Dijon is a large university city with a strong sporting tradition, but he wasn't remotely surprised that a lower end Championship club could prize away one of their most promising young players so easily. This is a top flight team in one of Europe's best leagues. I genuinely don't think it would be a problem for us to sign players from any club in Sweden and be able to offer them competitive wages. It just depends whether anyone else with more financial clout than us is also interested in him.
This would be some statement by the new owners, and yet not a, er, 'massive' diversion away from the Plan. From his profile looks just the sort of player we need - he'd played in all the top 4 levels in Sweden by the age of 20, so Championship over here would seem a canny next step for him. Transfermarkt has him at £810k, for what that's worth.
Seems he wants to leave his club afore his contracts up... but where's the rumour from that we're after him.. ??
It's a tricky area to buy players from across Europe and can be very hot and miss as people will remember from the Simon Davey era.... We got some good players though so I wouldn't be against going down that route again for some players.
Looks very good on the clips I've seen on You Tube. If we could get Thiam up to Championship standard and bring this lad in, we could have some genuine pace in the team to really threaten opposition defences. Fingers crossed that the January window is productive and we can get the necessary quality in to get the points to enable us to stay in the division.
A talented player can probably excel in several positions in Sweden, options will probably be more limited with us. From his profile, could he possibly be the new (upgraded?) Marley?
It's claimed he's the new Eden Hazard.! If that's true he could turn out to be some player. We probably would need to play him as an attacking midfielder because I believe we will already have another player lined up to partner Moore up front when he gets to the pace of the Championship. Bradshaw might have to settle for being an impact player from the bench, that is if we intend keeping him of course.
