    Great player , loved watching him , a true legend & a smashing bloke too , I used to sell the lottery tickets for the club many moons ago & came into contact with Eric on a few occasions , it was a pleasure for me meeting one of my heroes

    Can still hear the chant of “Winny, Winny, Winny” from the Ponty End when we got a corner and he made his way up the field.

    Note also the boots: black with white stripes, not pink, yellow or fluorescent orange. And made of leather, not plastic.

    I know Eric has his health issues and maybe he would have no interest but I think it would be a magnificent gesture from the new owners to ensure there was always a bit of Barnsley to offer him whatever involvement he wanted.
