Just seen that. Very sad. I'm too young to remember that West Brom team, but he was a member of the Coventry side who won the FA Cup in the first final I ever watched, and still one of the best. Little did I know that 31 years later, virtually every subsequent final I'd watch would be utter tosh (with the exception of Man Utd v Crystal Palace and Liverpool v West Ham).
RIP Cyrille. One of those players whose name featured every week in everyone's house via Match of the Day at the time I got into football, 1979/80 onwards. Can remember more names from back then than now.
Very sorry to be reading this news. I never had the pleasure to have seen him live but always gave my pleasure whenever I saw him play on tv. R.I.P. Cyrille.
Devastating news I know a lot of baggies fans and they held him in high esteem for his charity work as well as his football.
Statham, Brown, Batson, Cunningham, Robson, Cantello, Regis. Fine team. Couldn't name more than two West Brom players these days. Another club disbarred from seriously competing by the mess the Premier League has become. RIP Cyrille you were a marvellous player.
Sad and devastating news. A huge, powerful striker who was part of such a talented West Brom team. R.I.P. Cyrille.
Sad news, a pioneer as well as a great player. Sparing a thought for Laurie Cunningham too. Jeez, that lad was quick....
Dear god, RIP Cyrille. I lived in Coventry at the time he played there and had the great pleasure to meet on a few occasions one of the nicest, most genuine down-to-earth people I've encountered (as well as him being a colossus of a centre forward). He came up the hard way through non-league and was genuinely humble, with time for everyone. Had the nickname of 'Reg' - short for Reginald Molehusband, on account of him not being able to reverse park his car!
