I don't disagree with that, however to imply that we're relegated unless we spend millions is ridiculous and extremely unhelpful.
its 1 in twelve league games Conan, which has given us 8 points from the last possible 36. overall we have 27 pts from 27 games. If that rate keeps up we will only have 46 pts at the end....that's not enough IMHO.
On Football on 5 on Saturday Mickey Gray said his old team Sunderland who have 22 points need another 28 to survive viz: 50 points. He went on to say that Sunderland are no longer a big Club and in his opinion, they would not get the required number of points to stay up. Birmingham might struggle to get to 50 points as well. That probably leaves four teams fighting to avoid filling the remaining spot to go down. There is no doubt in my mind, that Chien Lee, Paul Conway and the other members of the new Consortium will want to protect their investment and have made the funds available to bring the players in to get the points required so that we are not relegated. We need to be patient and get behind Hecky and the boys in their efforts to maintain our Championship status. I am convinced we will be welcoming some new recruits before the current window closes.....keep the faith.
do you see the present squad as good enough to get to 50+ points..... you are in a small minority if so Mickey. Its my opinion we need strengthening , no need to throw mega bucks at it mind. But in my view we need improving by the end of January.
Talking about shirt sponsors I wonder what ours will be next season ? New city capital ? Got to be worth 10m minimum to have it across the famous red shirt .
CK Beckett extended the short sponsorship deal in august for a further two seasons. I'm guessing they'd have to be bought out of that deal before a new shirt sponsor could be signed up
perhaps the new owners have already looked into that while they were discussing the take over. Or maybe Beckett were in the know about the take over and thus extended their sponsorship in the hope that they may get a wider audience overseas....you never know
