    Anyone watch it on stream.
There wasn't a big number at the ground but two that were, Chien Lee and Paul Conway. They were with a guy. He was pictured sat next to James Cryne away at Brentford. The picture was in the Chronicle. Anyone know who it is? Youngish guy. http://www.barnsleychronicle.com/article/barnsley-fc-takeover-completed

It was a strange one because I thought they played well and created the better chances.

Young Amir as most seem to call him got the better of oxlade-chamberlain quite a few times.

Jacob Browns close control was good and Victor had too much in strength for the Portsmouth CB's but we still lost.

I thought Townsend had a good game despite conceding the two goals. Communication, handling and distribution were good.

Don't agree about Townsend thought he had very little to do and when he was called into action I'm my opinion he should have done more 're stopping the goals....you can see why he's not first choice keeper and why he isn't pushing Davis for the number1 shirt ... like Davis he doesn't command his area .....see other threads for my thoughts on the u23s

I'd have to ask you if you were at Oakwell at or watched it on facebook?

I was talking to a couple of people at oakwell yesterday and both thought he did well. His distribution was very good (from feet or hand). You could clearly hear what he was saying from the stand whilst at both ends. He came out and gathered a high ball early and smothered it well.

I thought to say we played most of the game with 10 men we played some entertaining football at a pretty high tempo. Several players caught my eye , especially Williams at left back. If we had taken one of our several clear cut chances we would have put the game to bed but credit to Portsmouths goalkeeper who had a very good game & credit to Pompey for keeping going but to sum up , for the level of football , I thought it was a very entertaining game

To be honest phil i watched the game from the comfort of my home,,,that said i saw how little Townsend had to do ....for long stretchs in the game the defence stifled the pompy attack, the defence played tight and closed the pompy forwards down,.... im 61 in march and i reckon i could have played in goal behind that defence they played that well.
The team has a whole played really well to say they played with 10 men the majority of the game ....quite a few in that team would make a regular weelky start in a league one team and hold their own without a problem in my opinion that said a few for me where head and shoulders above the rest. Back to your question on townsend ...i didnt think his kicking was anything to write home about, he certainly doesnt command his area from a positional point of view , there were times he should have come for the ball and didnt, times, he hesitated and both goals whilst not entirely at fault he should have done more to stop them ....the second one .especially ..... He in my opinion on that preformance is no where near championship standard and no way is he pushing Davis for the no1 spot.....I dont think he will be here come the end of January ...hope that answers your question

Pretty sure Adam would have been heard in an empty stadium.
