News breaking that because the PCP group have failed to meet his valuation, Mike Ashley has pulled the plug on the proposed takeover of Newcastle United.
People complained about the length of time our takeover took. It first came to public knowledge in August and was completed in December. I reckon based on the quotes of everyone involved, it's something that had been in the pipeline since April ish time. Mike Ashley has been selling Newcastle since about 2010. For one reason or another, it has "fallen through" every time. I reckon this is down to one simple reason.... Mike Ashley has absolutely no intentions of selling the club. He's seen as a villain at Newcastle and puts the club up for sale to make it look like he's giving the fans what they want, waits for things to blow over, and quietly takes it back down again. I think I've said further up this thread that he'll be there this time next year. He will. Believe me, Mike Ashley has no intention of selling Newcastle.
Ashley trying to sell the club to people with as much money as Kenny Moyes. You'd think someone with legit funds would love to buy them. One club city, 52k sell outs every week despite being rubbish, a champions league winning manager and great infrastructure with a brilliant stadium. With the right owner to put funds in they should be challenging for European football every season and looking to expand the stadium.
