I'm sure one of the reasons for the delays and then the charge of Affray rather than some kind of assault charge was based on the likelyhood of a conviction - its likely that some defense could be made based on the circumstances for assault charges - but there is no doubt he's fighting in the street which is likely to cause alarm and distress - proof required for affray is much less I think.
The ECB have now said it would be 'unfair to ban him for an unknown period of time' , and therefore he is available for selection . So let me get this right , before Stokes was charged , the ECB suspended him , but now he has been charged he's free to play . You couldn't make it up .
