Very few debuts have been as exciting and full of promise as his was against Blackpool. I thought we'd struck gold with him and Mark Stallard. I recall a goalless showing at Wrexham or Notts County in the next game that put that notion to bed. Still, Nardiello was a great servant and provided some golden moments. Unplayable for a short period in 2007 and his goals at Elland Road and the Play Off games in 2006 live long in the memory.

Good lad, I shook his hand at full time on the pitch at Walsall when we'd just sneaked into the playoffs, he scored the winner if memory serves...

When he got the ball on the edge of the box in front of our fans in the second half, I turned to my lad and told him he was going in to win a penalty. He had no intention of passing the ball and guess what...

Paul Hart, surely the worst manager we've ever had. Discuss.

    Bang on.

After the match as we drove away from Walsall, my two lads were stood up through the sunroof waving their Barnsley scarfs.
