Adam Hammill (39) has created more goalscoring chances without providing a single assist than any other Championship player this season
I can believe it. Just shows that if we could get some better quality finishers around him(not just in the striker position, but the wide players and attacking midfielders) or get the current players hitting the target more regular we would be in a much more secure league position...
It doesn't surprise me. The quality that he puts into the box is plain to see, we've just been crying out for someone strong in the air to play alongside (not instead of) Bradshaw.
Really? Hammill’s delivery has been incredibly poor for quite a while now. Yes the ball has gone into the box but it appears almost aimless at times. I don’t think he’s aided by playing on the right hand side but I certainly haven’t been overly enthused by his final ball of late.
Sadly got to agree. Great work rate this season but think his end product has been poor in the games I've seen. Would like to know what they class as a goal scoring chance...
admittedly not all his deliveries have been great, but for me he puts a minimum of 1 absolute beauty every game. Convert them, and keep the clean sheets we have been doing more frequently of late, and you have a recipe for many more points..
As I’ve said previously, I find AH to be far more effectual when he’s cutting inside from the left and either shooting or whipping in a cross as opposed to attempting to beat a man on the right before whipping in a ball or an early cross. The stats are clearly based on the sheer number of balls delivered into the area irrespective of the position of the forwards or the accuracy of the end product.
Yeah bit confused as to why we're playing izzy and Hammill on the opposing wings to which we did in the promotion season.
He would still be the first name on the sheet for me , he always commands the respect of the opposition where they regularly double up on him , thus creating space in our favour & whilst it is easy to criticise his crossing , its is very hard for him to pick out t he one forward we get in the box , who is usually surrounded by four defenders
Yes, but as stated above he simply isn’t as effective on the right as he is on the left. He’s an inverted winger by trade, always has been. It’s no surprise to me that he’s most lenient in terms of goals and assists when he’s tasked with beating players on the outside.
Having only been able to attend one game this year (Reading) I have to say, on that occasion, Hammill put in at least three great crosses from the right in the 1st half alone. They had pace on them placed into 'no-mans land' (from a keepers perspective) and if we had had a few forwards committed to getting into the box or a poacher like, dare I say it, Winnall, on the end of them at least one of those would have resulted in a goal. On that showing I don't recognise your description of poor delivery from Hammill. It was more a case of good deliveries and no quality (or even bodies) in the right place.
i.ve been saying all season I would give him a go as an attacking midfielder. thiem+moore upfront. hedges hammill isgrove across the middle, and pearson sat as behind dm infront of the back 4. 4.1.3.2
Well that would be interesting. Suicidal, but interesting. I especially like the fact you play Pearson as the one midfield player, who has never played in midfield for us, when arguably our best player this season has been Joe Williams; and Gary Gardner was comfortably man of the match last week against the runaway leaders. Madness.
So you would like to try this courageous tactic out away from home to one of the better sides in the division? Give Hecky a bell if only he knew.
Incredibly poor? The stat is that he's created 39 goalscoring chances - not, how many balls has he aimlessly put into the box. 39 chances, where a player has got in a produced a shot from his final ball.
