    It's also the inability to get any power or distance on shots and clearances, particularly clearances which cost us a goal today. Both teams should have scored two in the second half.

    I think there's a lot more to it than that.

    For the last half hour we played OK and did have a couple of chances we should have done better with, but Villa were playing at walking pace by then. I don't think they ever got out of second gear all game yet they were so superior in the first half it was embarrassing. By the time Moore ballooned it over the bar we could easily have been six down.

    The Hammill stats posted earlier this week underline this issue. We struggle to create many clear scoring opportunities but when we do we're toothless at the minute.
