You'd hope by now that that is already clear to whoever is supposed to be looking for players. It was clear to anyone with an ounce of footbaling knowledge in August...

Mistakes or something else. Ergo you'd hope that Hecky does not need to make the point any further. He's been saying that the squad is un-balanced since August and he's still saying it. The August window was a joke and this one is suffering from no preparation due to takeover putting all identification efforts on hold it seems.

Agree with most of that. Just surprised there is no mention for Moncur who was excellent. I expected Hecky would play a defender as a screen in front of a back four, instead he played 3 centre halves and it moved Pinnock, our best header of the ball out wide. He would have dealt with the crosses coming in. Some poor officiating also kept us under pressure. I was in the Villa end bang in line with Adomah who was a yard offside twice and it wasn't given. Then Grealish should have been booked for scything down Moncur when he broke free and then had a second booking for another bad tackle 2 minutes later. He went on to foul a couple more times when we were on the counter and he didn't even get booked all game. Having said that, we lost because of individual mistakes and being powder puff in the first 10-15 minutes. We badly need a new goalkeeper - it is like having a youth team player in goal yet he is one of our most experienced players. There were some positives in that we looked more dangerous going forward and if we can get Hammill and Isgrove playing regularly then I'm sure Moore and Bradshaw will get goals. Second half when we played with more aggression we looked much better and the natives around me were very anxious and relieved at the end

I also thought moncur looked quite good. If hecky can figure out his best position and find the right partner for him as well as making sure he applies himself, he is by far our best midfielder

Moncur backed out of so many challenges today, I was tearing my hair out in the Doug Ellis Upper Tier.

Yes, saw that time and time again. a few decent runs but not enough to justify him for me.

Agree with all of this. Bradshaw's work rate is great but i'm just not sure he's that good of a footballer. Both him and Davies need dropping for me. Same line up against fulham as wolves line up for me, but with Moore or thiam in for Bradshaw.

I don't understand why player identification stopped due to the takeover.

He did what we know he is good at, took care of the ball, used it well and ran at their defence with the ball causing them problems. He also did what we know he isn't good at without the ball, worked extremely hard closing down quickly. He held his position well when we switched to a two in midfield and was key in enabling us to transition quickly when we regained possession. Seen some follow up comments on him which I don't agree with.....he was our best player. Both full backs played well and Mallan's set piece delivery was very good.

Ok. Let's hope we have had a break through with him. I won't hold my breath

That’s fair enough. If he had that part of the game in him he would be brilliant but unfortunately not right now

Time to change thi record lad. I’ve scanned through the forum and you’ve made the same point re Moncur at least a dozen times. No one would dispute that there’s room for improvement but to continually just say “get shut” or “**** him off” is tedious. You’ve made your mind up and whatever he does from here on in is not going to change it. Your attitude doesn’t exactly add credibility to your political opinions .

I don't really know who played well or badly. 3 rows from the front near the corner flag. How can you judge from that? lol
