From the Barnsley Chronicle. Today it makes me smile with pride, whilst giving me a lump in the throat & a tear in my eye.
Loved it when cameras caught Mr. Cryne shedding a tear at Oakwell South when we won. How many other club owners would do the same?
Great pictures, top man. Even in his final months still attending games and sorting the takeover. Oakwell legend thanks for the memories Patrick.
have you any of him with the play-off final cup too.... and yes both occasions were very special moments... even more special after the great mans passing... I am so glad I was there on both occasion to witness it all, and with two very nice guys also. I will never ever forget those special days.
oooops the first was the play off cup... sorry .... its just that Patricks departure has totally rocked me, and as ever I am not thinking straight. The club will take a long time to get over this. I do not believe that many truly know exactly what Patrick and his family behind him sacrificed for the future of the club .... and it was not just his cash either In my opinion. He gave his heart and soul for this club, THAT I truly believe.
This photo should be blown up to massive proportions and placed pride of place in foyers on all four sides and legends suite imo
I` m inclined to agree the photo`s should be blown up as large as they can and placed in various parts of the ground. I `m sure the new owners once the funeral has passed will be in contact the James as to what the family would like to put in place as befitting and lasting tribute to the man that saved the mighty reds.
Bit of a long shot but how about displaying it on the scoreboard screen at the 66th minute come Saturday to coincide with a minutes applause. Admin? Anyone?
You know what I like the most about this picture? How much joy it gave to those close to him to make him happy. That shows what type of man he is. The expressions on the faces of Hecky and those I presume to be Jean and James next to him (sorry if I'm wrong with that assumption!) whilst looking at Patrick shows how much they were enjoying how happy he was at that moment.
Exactly my thoughts, Mrs Cryne clasping her hands and the expression on her face clearly shows how much it meant to them all.
