It won't be properly dark at the time for the desired affect. Fans will be singing that he's one of our own all match, so don't need a particular minute to do it. 66th minute everyone stands to applaude and sing that he's one of our own would be fitting, as long as we got the minute right because a lot get it wrong.
Put the number of minutes played on the scoreboard and start it flashing on 66. Or is that too complicated?
See that would be wrong. When it comes up 66 minutes that means the 67nd minute has started. We need to start as soon as the scoreboard says 65:01. That's where so many minute applauses we see at Oakwell go wrong.
I’d say that in the context of doing a collective tribute in a specified minute, getting the minute wrong is the biggest thing to worry about.
Doesnt matter. Itll start spontaneously an when it does therell be no stoppin it. 65th/66th/67th minute is just semantics.
Think you're being a bit pedantic mate. By the same token Patrick was in his 67th year so it would be more appropriate after the 66th minute (start of 67th) was shown. Same goes for any previous 1 minute applauses.
This is completely missing the point, the symbolic gesture is more important than the pedantic accuracy. If you want to pay tribute to someone based on a certain number it makes sense to do it when that number is up in lights on the scoreboard. Otherwise it looks like it's been cocked up.
