Guys Can I politely ask that you two just ignore each other without posting pages of jousting. We lost the man that saved this club just a few days ago. Lets not forget that.
Fair play to those who’re are playing this down but il be honest I’m properly gutted this kid looked a player and was said to have verbally agreed a lengthy contract. Further to that it’s the bigger message it sends to other prospective signings we are trying to attract - not to mention in the same week as losing quite possibly the best thing that’s happened to out club in a time where other so called ‘big teams’ have beeb ripped apart by owners who have no loyalty to the long term Interest of the club/community Obvs more important things in life than football but feeling very dejected. Relegation is unthinkable we owe more to Patrick & his family.
Relegation is not unthinkable. It's was a very strong possibility given our recruitment and wage budget. However disappointing it would be it would also not be the end of the world. I'm sure the new owners came in knowing it was a possibility. All that said even if we went with the squad we have now we would have a chance lot of poor teams around us.
The lad was in the building the other night after girls football practice. Some people will take things as gospel. Like I say it’s each to their own but doesn’t seem the right approach to me. Tryouts know someone has signed when they are wearing the shirt and being announced before kick off.
everyone getting excited over him and we've only seen a 3 minute snippet on you tube. don't shoot the messenger I.e RAC. It's the player who's turned us down. And he didn't look all that anyway. let's concentrate on giving sir Patrick Cryne a fitting tribute Saturday and concentrate on some final additions afterwards at the end of the window. cos that's when all the business happens. Keep up the posts #redarmychris, I for one appreciate your input
Spot on. If we go down, we go down and start again. Would be interesting to see what the new owners would do if we managed to come back up and be faced with another January like last year. I wouldn't like to go back down though. I don't relish visiting all those grounds again, with the odd exception, and also we could be down a bit.
A little bit more than stupid in a footballing business sense for the new owners though don't you think? they came in and said they wanted to market the club worldwide to open up revenue streams? thats going to be pretty bloody hard in league 1 again don't you think with a 6 million loss to boot as an immediate relegation loss? going down looks more like commercial suicide to me tbh.
Not saying it would be a good thing of course it wouldn't. But it wouldn't be the end of all things. We have a low wage bill, young players we would just have to start again. What would be stupid is if the new owners came in to a club in relegation battle and didn't consider relegation a possibility. 3 teams go down every year, what works in our favour is we are well run so wouldn't be stuck with overheads we can't afford.
Easier to bring players through at league one standard. Some of those we brought in during our last stay in league one, brought the club millions. As you say, not the way we want to go, but not the end of the world.
If the guy wants to play in France in a stadium the size of Bournemouth's so be it. With criticism of Barnsley by some on here, I can say that Amiens is no Nice, Lyon or Bordeaux: in fact it is quite a boring town.
I'm half fluent in French mate so have a fair idea on what's been said. Apparantly the guy in the video reckons that it was Hecky that pulled the plug on the deal as they agreed to sign off the deal in Nando's but Manzala didn't have a clue what Nando's was so Hecky kicked him and his agent out whilst ordering himself Perri half a chicken with sprinkled fries. Shocking int it
