It seems people are expecting us to sign 4-5 players who are going to change out season - trying to bring another 5 first team players into a team of 11 is just stupidly impossible. We have 3 new players already, if we get a new Goalie then that's enough for me.

I don' think any one knows what the percentage is for each invester. Unless your conncted to the investors themselves. The players from the summer where mostly from the lower leagues so relatively easy to sort out /deal with . Players from higher leagues. Same league or abroad need to feel confident there making the right move .and with the players where being linked with but not getting over the line . There would appear to be something no quite right .not becuase one player has rejected us .but the ones where being linked with are not comming or going to other clubs etc . Read between the lines with what hecky says and all doesant seem to be what is required .

Yeah, but come one mate - we shouldn't be getting excited just because players are linked with us. Only a very small proportion of transfer rumours ever turn out to be true.

Who' getting excited . I' listening to what our managers saying and clearly he's not happy so somethings not right .and yep not ever one linked with us is true ..its worrying that we don' seem to be able to up the calibre of players even by a small percentage other than a loan...

How do you know the lad from France was going to be better than what we already have? Thiam cost almost a million quid and has yet to score in open play.

Also we haven't seen Pinillos yet to judge, and I'd say Moore has given us another dimension to what we have up top.

It's only worrying if you want it to be.

Chances are we'll go down this season, but we've done it before and come back stronger.

To my mind we are what is termed " a distressed asset" in that given the unfortunate state of his health
our late owner had little choice but to sell 80% of the Club to what appears to be a very rich Consortium.
Rich people don't usually amass wealth by spending a lot of money. The first target for the new owners will
be to recover their initial outlay. To do that, as outlined at the takeover meeting, they will attempt to enhance
income streams by improving the match day experience to attract more supporters, PR, marketing, corporate, sponsorship etc etc.
In their original mission statement they said they wouldn't do anything crazy, but would fund attempts to get
the Club into the Premiership. The only way to do that of course is to invest in the squad of players at the
Managers disposal. There's no doubt that in order to sustain our Championship status, they will have asked
Hecky what he needs by way of cash to fund transfers/loans. To that end they have to trust his judgement.
They've authorised the purchase of Moore,Pinnilos and by the sounds of it the loan of Maloney from AFC Bournemouth.
He wanted Harrison Manzala and it's not Hecky's fault we got knocked back on that one and he's confirmed he wants Eastwood to challenge Davies. Hopefully that will still happen if of course we up our offer and hopefully we get somebody to fill
the spot we made for Manzala plus one more Premiership loan player. If we get five or six deals across the line before the
close of the window we will have done well. There are no guarantees we will survive, but with the new lads coming in,
the return of Williams from suspension and the recovery of MacDonald and Jackson in my honest opinion we should have enough to stay up.

Of course he'll pick up a big wad for getting promoted, but that won't go far once he's signed some premier league players and signed them up to big money deals.

He's throwing money at it, and will never get back what he's put in.

The key word used was " usually". Every successful businessman I've known throughout
my life never usually spent their own money, opting to use the banks money instead to fund their businesses.
How many owners have made their fortune out of running a football Club.?

Do you think the current vintage is better than our play off team? Genuine question. I can’t see that myself to back up the come back stronger idea. Last time we went down I thought it was ultimately for the best this time I think it would be fairly disastrous

I'm just glad we've got solvent new owners, chosen by PC, with the interests of the club in mind. There'll be no madness and Barnsley FC will remain recognisable as what it is.

Thank you to Patrick for the legacy he's left. I've no idea why but I feel optimistic for the future.

Wages, or lack of them. Got to up the wages in the championship or we won't get what we require to push on, simple as that. May have been reasonable in league 1 but we all know how daft this league is getting for wages, never mind the premier league.
This is the sad fact of modern football and players agents etc.
The ship sailed many years ago to keep players on limited wages. I detest it but it's the way of the world and won't ever change.

True, but we didn't come straight back up and the playoff team wasn't the team that went down. It won't be next time either.
