    High Green and Chapletown are both part of Sheffield. The band support Wednesday. I can't see how that all makes them more Barnsley than Sheffield.

    Yes they are in Sheffield Council area..bradgate)
    Hoyland Wombwell Chap and places in between is where most of my family are from ..
    Chapeltown and High Green are closer to Barnsley and they talk more like Barnsley folk, they arent dee dars..
    Yeh I know Alex and Jamie they are indeed all Wednesday fans and the lad from Grenoside that they sacked ..

    Personally I think Arctic Monkeys and Oasis ruined British Indie music as every other band tried to sound like them and neither are very interesting, not very Indie either IMO, just a couple of dull rock bands, with a couple of good albums but then going on forever making mediocre ones.

    They're not what I call Indie, most of their fans were beer-chugging laddish types.

    In that case Here's Jonny are going to be the next big thing. Not Indie though IMO.

    You know what I mean though; Oasis/ Stone Roses/ Arctic Monkeys fans are more like the people who beat up Indie kids for looking different.

    You carry on thinking that. However, I can honestly say I’ve never worn Stone Island and lager isn’t really my tipple of choice.

    Arctic Monkeys have produced the best stream of consciousness social commentary since Weller. Back in the day Happy Monday’s fans look s like scallies cos we were.

    The Jam is a good comparison, they weren't an Indie band either, they had loads of hits, as did Madness.

    Arctic Monkeys, Stone roses and Oasis are in that same caregory of popular "lads bands" to me.
