Townsend made 2 decent saves towards end
Mills our MOTM by a mile for me
    Bradshaw useless
Mcburnie did more in 20mins than any other striker has in ages
Gardner and Williams together don' work it' too Defensive for me
I've been critical of Moncur this season but for me that was one of his better games

Next game Mallan should replace Williams, run himself into the ground before Lederhosen comes on.

McBurnie should replace Bradshaw up front and play with Moore.

Not sure about wingers - if Izzy was fit he'd be one. I suppose Hammill should play and we should use subs early.

N'Darfieldred saying Mills was a liability.. I know there's differing views but not to such an extreme

Bradshaw wasn't as bad as Moore - Ipswich laughing all the way to the bank on that one. How he started over McBurnie is a mystery to me.

    And me.

Gardner has come into his own without having Williams sharing his space, yet Williams was straight back in. Worst of all, when we had an extra man why not take one off and get an attacking option on. Instead we passed the ball side to side, but crossing was fruitless because he'd taken Moore off.

Moncur was our best midfielder going forward. He's not a winger.

Bradshaw? Nothing seems to suit him. So time to leave him out and try something else.

Some people on here must be watching different games to me, since Gardner came in against Cardiff we have won 1 game in 14 in the league before that we played Moncur Williams Potts as a 3 and went on that run were we only lost 1 in 8 and we where playing our best football of the season, so I don’t get the hype around how Gardner should play before Williams who IMO will be a premier league player in a few years, maybe this is why all our best players keep leaving because most of the fans don’t appreciate them !!

If you're playing a 3 in midfield it's best to have 1 holding player, 1 box to box player and 1 attacking midfielder. See Sheridan/Bullock/Redfearn. Sure, theny all have to work hard but Bullock (or Marcelle) in that role had far less defensive duties.

I've not sen any of the team since pre-season, but has Moncur been given that Bullock role where less defensively is expected of him and he's just told to get forward and create chances?

What did you do that for...mention Sheridan/Bullock/Redfearn. It's just made me even more dissatisfied with the current tribe. :player:

Mills looked very rusty to me but good positionally. Townsend did ok but had little to do. Bradshaw was ineffective. The whole team was let down by poor team selection. Moncur is not a winger. Gardner and Williams have individual quality but cannot play effectively together. Hecky needs to pick one and stick to them.

No, simply put. Cos he doesn’t do it often enough to justify letting him not graft

I didn't say I didn't appreciate him, or that he won't be a premier league player.

I said Gardner has been playing well without him.

I don't think we should be talking about good or bad runs "because so and so was playing" because the bigger picture is we've managed to win a measly 6 out of a full season, and hecky has barely played the same starting line up 2 games on the bounce.

Playing Williams and Gardner together today meant that Moncur was played out of position and we had no width.

Also continuing to play them together when we had a man spare meant we had no creativity going through the middle, with mallan on the bench having done nothing wrong.

Players don't leave us because they're not appreciated. They either aren't good enough or alternatively get offered more money.

I don't get the playing moncur as a winger thing. I feared the worst againsy Fulham when I saw moncur on the wing. Against Fulham George did okay he gave his all and is a decent laiker with the ball at his feet. But he has zero pace in comparison to a winger and that just isn't is position. Square pegs round holes....

Yes and most of the games we have one is when Gardner hasn’t played, I’m not saying the only reason they leave is because they don’t feel appreciated but I certainly think that’s a factor, also the last two games Moncur has played have been on the right and he’s done well in both, Personally I think Williams is our best midfielder and should be first on the team sheet

You obviously didn’t go only one who wants the ball and puts a foot done much more than Gardner who was anonymous our best midfielder and he’s 21 if you thought he was woeful today you either didn’t go or your view on football is poor
