Interestingly, the only manager in the last 10 years (not including caretaker stints) with a worse win ratio than Hecky is the legend that is Keith Hill... PH 27.7 LJ 39.2 DW 30.2 DF 31.1 KH 25.3 MR 31.5 SD 32.6 ...and I still reckon sticking with Hecky is absolutely the right choice.
Keith Hill's is the worst in the entire history of the club as well I believe, not just the last ten years.
Johnson's last 14 games in charge Played 14 Won 8 Drawn 4* Lost 2. * 2 drawn cup games against Wigan and Fleetwood that we won on penalties.
I don't disagree, they were rubbish, but it's worth pointing out that the good run started before Hecky took over. The revisionism on here is sometimes a bit much.
To be fair we had a team that we later sold for upwards of 20 million quid. I’d expect my 5 year old to have got us into the top 6 as a minimum. Nowt against Johnson seems a nice guy. He’s a young manager learning the game and is certainly doing well this season
It goes to show how trying to judge good teams and managers is a decidedly slipshod affair. Before that run under Johnson when we were bottom, you'd have struggled to find many on this board who thought we had a good team and manager and were just a bit 'out of sorts'. Yet a few months later.....Im sure we can spot rubbish teams and great ones - but the things in between are a bit of a mystery sometimes.
The performances during that dire run were as bad as anything I’ve every seen. A young manager making mistakes made it very hard to judge the quality.
