Anyone? Done a fantastic job at Shrewsbury, I think they were tipped to finish in the bottom 4 this season but got them up to 2nd on a very small budget. Previously managed in the conference and league 2 with Grimsby.
Sorry, are we thinking that the new foreign ownership team are going to have heard of Paul Hurst? Good shout but I don't think its a likely one.
Mentioned Paul Hurst earlier played the transfer market well at Grimsby and doing a good job this season. Rebuilt Grimsby on a budget so has an eye for talent
So go for the higher placed personalities that are in for every job, who are given chance after chance and find them self sacked and onto another job..? Would much prefer an up and coming as in Hurst with a bit of money and see show he can progress the squad we have.
A lot of candidates being mentioned are managers. If Hecky goes, we will probably be looking to appoint a coach who leaves the recruitment of the players to GG and the custodian(s) of the spreadsheet. Are there many out there that would tolerate that situation.? If Hecky does defect, it will be interesting to hear his reasons, apart from money. His frustrations spilled over after the friendly against Rotherham. Perhaps he's hacked off at having his hands tied and having to operate under what he possibly saw as constraints. Don't believe that proven operators like Garry Monk, Steve McClaren or Steve Clement would be interested if we retained the same model we've been working to. If it's to be an outside appointment, Craig Hignett assisted by Neil Redfearn might do a good job for us.!
Because our last two head coaches have been backed by the club, and moved on to bigger clubs, with bigger spending power and bigger fan bases, and one final bigger thing, bigger wages, ? We’ll sell the head coaches job no different to coaches than we do the players.
